How to ruin your brides wedding morning…

(A Stylist’s Survival Guide to Chaos, Coffee, and Questionable Timing)

Okay, I don’t think it’s ever intentional. Well, let’s hope it’s not. However, the following really does not help.

1.Hop in the shower while everyone argues about who’s going first.

This is not the time for rock-paper-scissors. Both your hair and makeup are styled and applied to last the day. (Ever heard of On Til’ Dawn? Every pro makeup artist has this must-have in her arsenal and it basically is like Shellac for your makeup. Hello breakfast while still looking glam!) You should be EXCITED to sit in the chair. Be the champ and offer to go first!

2.Steam your dress AFTER hair and makeup are complete and then as to sit back in the chair for touchups

Because what better way to test how heat and humidity resistant your curls are than by steaming a gown right next to your freshly styled head? NO MA’AM. The night before! At the very latest, BEFORE hair and makeup. Do yourself the favour.

3. Sit down for hair with soaking wet hair

Stylists love blow-drying hair for an extra 40 minutes when the schedule allows for… zero. And now the timeline is on life support. Wash and dry the night before, please and thank you!

4. Show up late and indecisive with a coffee in hand

Ah, the holy trifecta: being late on a wedding morning, not knowing what you want (come on you have to have at least one Pinterest photo!), and arriving with a latte like you’re strolling into a casual brunch. The bride’s pulse? Racing. The stylist’s smile? Strained. Your caffeine? Okay it’s Delicious, but not justified! BE EARLY! And have that photo ready. Scrolling is for tomorrow morning on the couch, after the wedding, not while you’re sitting in the chair.

Moral of the story? Don’t be that bridesmaid. Arrive on time, follow the prep instructions, and save your multitasking for the dance floor. Your bride will love you—and your beauty squad will be ever so grateful.
