Mother-in-Laws, your wedding morning, and a cautionary tale…

I kid you not, if someone is going to be difficult on a wedding morning, nine times out of ten, it is the MIL. (I don’t say this to be mean, it is a true fact) Is it because she is no longer the main woman in her son’s life? I have no idea. I’m just a hairstylist, and an uncertified but honorary tHairapist.

However, when someone hops into the hair chair who’s not on the list (yes, a mother-in-law did this), or casually puts on a fashion show for the bride asking which dress she should wear (one of which was white lace over a cream slip, while the bride was getting her hair done, true story) on the morning of the wedding, I start to wonder. And it takes everything I’ve got to keep my mouth shut. Doesn’t matter, the horror is probably written all over my face.

HERE’S THE THING: If you, mother in law, have been invited to be a part of your daughter-in-laws morning, that’s an honor. It’s HER day, not your comeback tour. (Sorry, not sorry)

So here’s my loving, professional advice:

SIT DOWN. SHUT UP. AND BEHAVE. Smile. Keep it light and polite. No opinions. No complaining. And at the very least, DON’T WEAR WHITE!
